Appointed by the State and Federal Courts as a court-appointed receiver – over 500 projects throughout Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia.

Project Managers – experienced in the supervision of construction of up to 2,500 Apartments and 4,000 single-family lots. Our founder, David Legault, worked on the 1st Development of Regional Impact (DRI) in the State of Florida.

Certified Property Managers (CPM) is the highest designation issued by the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Professional Licenses and Certifications

David L. Legault – President

David L. Legault started Florida Receiver in 1983 with the idea of providing a technical service to financial institutions during the workout and disposition of distressed properties.

David’s primary activities have been consulting with lenders on the status of the development process, development permits, monitoring of environmental matters, and providing due diligence status reports to clients. 

In addition, David has managed income-producing properties during the REO disposition process for financial institutions. Another important element of services has been acting as a Court-Appointed Receiver or Trustee during foreclosure or other legal actions. 

Prior to consulting, David was engaged in the site selection, real estate development, property management, and the marketing and sale of real property with sales exceeding two billion dollars.

Doug Schworer – Senior Project Manager

Doug’s 39 years of expertise focus on projects involving electrical infrastructure, telecommunications, and fiber optics.

Scott Legault – Senior Project Manager and General Contractor

Scott brings with him 42 years of experience as a general contractor and project manager for commercial, industrial, and residential construction. Examples of Scott’s expertise can be found in successful building projects by US Home, Rutenberg Corporation, and Beacon Homes.

Sara Legault – Corporate Financial Officer

Sara’s specialty is in receivables. Her 36-year career as a supervisor for GTE and Verizon concentrated on the handling of the State of Florida’s internet, phone, operating, invoicing, billing, and collections.

Todd Legault – Senior Project Manager

Todd’s 29-year career expertise is in managing construction projects, including renovations and remodeling of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.

Valerie Groce – Restaurant Consultant

As a former restaurateur with multiple locations, Valerie brings experience launching, maintaining, and closing a restaurant, along with the associated costs and value of restaurant property.
